Description

John 12:32 seems to have always been a favourite verse of Protestant universalists. Elhanan gets a lot out of it here.

Text

And if I should be lifted up
And suffer on the tree,
I shall become the ground of hope
And draw all men to me.

This is my heav'nly Father's will,
That all should be restored;
For this my blood I freely spill,
So spake our loving Lord.

What sweet and blessèd news is this,
That Christ for all did die!
And will not of his purpose miss,
But all will justify!

The travail of his soul shall see,
And shall be satisfied;
And all mankind at last shall be
Restored by Christ who died.
