Over, 2022 London composium
Composed in memory of Rebecca Over. The text is Isaac Watts' Psalm 29.
Thank you to the London singers for trying this out at the composium before their 2022 all-day, and thanks to Connie for making a recording.
The Lord proclaims his pow'r abroad
Over the ocean and the land;
His voice divides the wat'ry cloud,
And lightning blaze at his command.
He speaks, and tempest, hail and wind,
Lay the wide forest bare around;
The fearful hart and frightened hind
Leap at the terror of the sound.
To Lebanon he turns his voice,
And lo, the stately cedars break;
The mountains tremble at the noise,
The valleys roar, the deserts quake.
