Jesus the Father's image bright,
At the creation's head he stands;
He dwells in uncreated light,
All things were fashioned by his hands.
All things in heav'n, all things on earth,
All things invisible and seen,
Thrones and dominions, had their birth
From him who made the world of men.

All pow'rs and principalities
By him, were formed, by him ordained;
All things design'd by God's decrees,
By him were fashioned and sustained.
All for his subjects were designed,
He was exalted over all:
He was their Head, and they combined,
Composed his members till their fall.
